I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (membership #12772).
Reaching out when you’re struggling can often feel like a scary first step towards change. I am here to demystify the counselling process and am dedicated to facilitating a counselling experience that is non-judgmental, compassionate and rooted in the belief that you are a whole, unique, person, who holds the knowledge within to work through whatever is challenging you.
During my career, I have worked with youth & young adults (and their supports) and adults, dealing with a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, disordered eating, bullying, life transitions, substance use, trauma and general life stressors.
My core approach to counselling is Narrative and Client-centered therapy and I work alongside my clients, to explore what they are experiencing and discover new ways to approach these challenges. I also incorporate other evidence based counselling techniques into my work, borrowing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness based therapies.
Born in Vancouver, I’ve lived in Ontario, various parts of Vancouver Island and eventually returned back to Vancouver permanently in 2008. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including a live-in treatment centre, in community and on an interdisciplinary concurrent teams. In all these different settings, I have found that the resilience and incredible capacity people possess for healing and change has always inspired me and kept me engaged and in love with what I do.
In my personal life I spend time with my family on the Sunshine Coast, soaking up the Pacific Northwest, making art, cooking and spending time with my therapy assistant, Pepperoni, the Cavalier King Charles x Puggle.
